I am a Long Island based psychiatrist with experience working all over New York City. After medical training and a general psychiatry residency at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, I completed my fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU, mostly working with very complex cases next door at Bellevue Hospital.
When I'm not seeing patients at my office, I work as an emergency child psychiatrist at Northwell Health/Cohen Children's Medical Center. That affiliation benefits my pediatric patients who may need urgent support including transfer to an inpatient psychiatric unit.

What to expect
A brief phone call to talk through your concerns and your goals, and to schedule an evaluation if I am confident I can help. Seeking care for your child? They do not need to be on the call.
Fifteen minutes to understand what brings you here and whether my services will get you where you want to go. Fees will be discussed here.
One hour for adults, two hours for children. A diagnostic assessment of current symptoms and past history, then a treatment plan we agree on together.
Usually monthly. Stable patients are often seen every three to six months. In person or virtual.

To improve access, our healthcare system increasingly relies on nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and, in some states, psychologists with prescribing authority. The process
The evaluation ends with a treatment plan we agree on together. Where medication is indicated, I emphasize informed consent so you understand the risks and the benefits, and I use the lowest effective dose to minimize side effects.
I carry a small caseload so that each patient gets close attention. At my practice you are not a number.
Please note: if you are currently covered under Medicare, I cannot accept self pay under any circumstances.
The office
My office is centrally located in Nassau County. There is ample parking, and it is a short walk from the Garden City Long Island Rail Road station down a beautiful main street if you are coming by train.
Can't make it in? Virtual appointments are available across all of New York State.
Existing patients can reach the patient portal any time for refills, invoices, and messages.
