Services

  • Medication Management

I provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and ongoing treatment with psychotropic medication when indicated. Research shows that therapy combined with medication management results in the best outcomes for most mental health diagnoses.

  • Individual Psychotherapy (18+)

I specialize primarily in psychodynamic psychotherapy which is a type of talk therapy that can help you understand and address emotional difficulties by exploring your unconscious patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It's based on the idea that our past experiences, especially in childhood, can significantly influence our present lives, even if we're not consciously aware of it.

Unlike some therapies that focus solely on current symptoms, psychodynamic therapy explores the root causes of your difficulties. It's less structured than some other therapies, allowing you to lead the conversation and explore what's most important to you. The relationship with your therapist is also an important part of the process, as it can provide valuable insights into your relational patterns.

  • Couples Therapy

Drawing primarily from the Gottman Method, I work with couples struggling with basic issues of mistrust, miscommunication, and general overwhelming conflict.

When we are part of a system, each part of that system has to want to change in order for growth to occur. Relational issues are nothing more than patterns of behavior that keep us stuck where we are. My work is to help both partners recognize which patterns of behavior are keeping them stuck in a cycle of unhappiness.

  • Family Therapy

Similarly to couples therapy, family therapy also consists of helping all members of a system realize the patterns of behavior that are keeping them stuck.

Family therapy is a little less structured and usually requires a good amount of flexibility from all parties (including the therapist) to achieve a working style that will produce results.
